This week, speakers from three world-renowned research institutions, the University of Minnesota, Mayo Clinic and the Karolinska Institute of Stockholm, Sweden, will bring their unique perspectives and experience to the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis as part of the Frontiers in Global Health Research Symposium. Throughout the two day event (Nov. 1-2), they will discuss the leading causes of death and suffering in the world including: cardiovascular disease, cancer, smoking, diabetes, nutritional deficiencies and infectious diseases.
The Symposium brings an exciting group of speakers including a special presentation from Hans Rosling, M.D., Ph.D., professor of International Health, Karolinska Institute. Rosling is one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People and one of the top 10 most popular TEDTalks speakers of all time.
Peter Agre, M.D., a Nobel Laureate and professor and director of the Johns Hopkins University Malaria Research Institute, will deliver the keynote address.
