The 2013 Dog Olympics will be held this Sunday, April 14. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Minnesota’s Leatherdale Equine Center and is hosted by the U of M College of Veterinary Medicine’s Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Event-goers are encouraged to bring their dog to participate in the day’s games and contests including an obstacle course challenge, best trick competition, costume contest, high jump challenge, doggie relay race and more. Prizes will be awarded.

The 2013 Dog Olympics is open to the public and will take place indoors. Tickets are required for admission and can be purchased online prior to the event at or at the door.

Tickets at the $5 level include a goody bag and $10 tickets include a free souvenir bandana and an unlimited competition and game pass for your dog.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the St. Paul Police K-9 Foundation, a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes. Its mission is to provide financial support for the St. Paul Police Canine Unit.
